The
giving of Reiki from Practitioner to client is a simple process. The client can lay on a treatment bed or sit in and
arm chair - the most important thing is to be comfortable and relaxed.
There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki can pass through andthing from bandages to client's
whole body. Sometimes specific areas may need more attention than others. A full treatment may usually take around 1-2 hours
depending on what the treatment is for.
Reiki can be given anywhere, anytime - it is not the place that is important.
Previously, I have even given Reiki outdoors on a lovely sunny day. The pratitioner channels Reiki energy wherever they may
be. It is possible to heal ar any level physically, mantally, emotionally and virtually. There is no religious attachment
with Reiki; all the client needs is a willingness to recieve the healing.
During a treatment some clients may experience
a change in body temperature, see colours or just simply fall asleep. The Reiki energy flows through the body like water
in astream soothing, cleansing and reaching areas where it's needed the most, helpingthe body's own natural
healing to take place.
Many problems can be helped. The results depend on the nature of the peoblem, how
long you have had it, and how regularly you receive treatment. Some hospitals allow Reiki to be given as long as the correct
procedures are taken with regards to liaising with doctors and nursing staff.
Some Problems that can be helped.
- Recovery from operations
- Back pain
- Injuries, both long or short term
- Skin
conditions
- Stress and anxiety
- Bereavement
- Addictions
The list here is not
exhaustive by any means.
After a treatment, most people are relaxed and peaceful, even sleepy. Reiki may stir
up emotions; feeling tired or energised is all part of the healing process. Some may also experience other healing
reactions, such as flue - like symptoms, headaches. This normally only lasts a few days and is also part of the a healing
process. Drinking plenty of water and resting as much as you can will help.
Choosing the right Practitioner can be hard. If some one has been recommended
this is always a good way to start. If not, phone around and ask questions, i.e. How long have they been a Practitioner, how
long is a treatment, what are their fees. Trust
in your own instincts and intuition; if they feel right then go for it, if not then don't. What may be right for
one person may not be right for another, never for afraid to change Practitioners they will under stand if you don't gel.
But most of the time when you find one it will be right.
All Practitioners should have a high standard of practice, and follow a code of ethics just like a Doctor.
